The Dialexton School of Allied Health Professions

The Dialexton School of Allied Health Professions is a private school dedicated to providing practical career training, including a program to earn a Phlebotomy Technician Certificate (PTC).

Kingsborough Community College (KBCC) was established in 1963 and has been ranked by the Aspen Institute as one of the top ten community colleges in the nation.

Access Careers

Access Careers offers a three-week phlebotomy technician program from their Brooklyn location.

The program is offered in the mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Coursework for this training program includes the basics principles of drawing blood, sites for venipuncture, preventive measures, etc.

In addition, students learn to identify color-coded tubes and how to appropriately handle specimens to be delivered to the laboratory for accurate results.

The Emergency Training Center offers an on-campus and online version of its accredited phlebotomy training program that, for some students, can be completed in as little as four weeks.

Note that both programs, including the online program, require an externship for real-world training before employment, including volunteering at one of the many American Red Cross facilities across the country.
